ITINERARY: 8 days to High Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert Tour
1 Day : Arrival in Marrakech
You will be personally picked up by the Shiny Morocco team and taken to the hotel.
2 Day.- Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls – El Ksiba .
This first stage of our Desert and Atlas Tour from Marrakech, begins with a visit to the Ouzoud Waterfalls (great 100 meters of waterfall). We drive through Ben el Ouidane dum, and once past, we will reach a small town surrounded by orange, olive and fig trees, we finally arrive at the Berber village of El Ksiba.
3 Day. El Ksiba – Imilchil – todra.
On this day we will discover the splendor of the Atlas Mountains. a Berber village located in the High Atlas. We will pass through Imilchil, we will arrive at the Todra Gorges, which we can go through to its canyons. Continue to Tinghir where we will spend the night.
4 Day. Todra – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert.
After breakfast, we will drive towards the desert, passing through Tenjdad and many other ancient villages to reach Erfoud; the land types. All fossils are expected to be found here .
Day 5 – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Sahara .
The best day of our Sahara Desert and High Atlas Mountains Tour after breakfast, we will enjoy the Merzouga in the 4×4, where we will visit Khamlia. It is an African village, where you can be entertained by the local community playing traditional desert music on simple traditional instruments. In the afternoon, return to the same hotel to get ready for the camels and enjoy the sunset among the dunes. night in the Berber camp.
6 Day. Sahara Desert -Rissani – Tazarine – Zagora .
After an unforgettable day in the desert, we leave for Rissani. The first imperial city of Morocco before Fes, Marrakech, Rabat, is an important commercial center in the area. This is considered as a market in exchange for the caravan routes passing through there in the past. Rissani is also well known for the nomads living in the area. We will follow Alnif, Tazarine and Nkoub to reach the huge Draa valley, which we can follow until we reach Zagora in the afternoon.
7 Day : Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate .
After breakfast, we will start a new journey, passing through the longest river in Morocco. This is the Draa valley with its palm trees, from the center of the valley we will turn off the main road to go to the heart of the valley, with its beautiful village and kasbahs.
8 Day : Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech.
A few kilometers from the city of Ouarzazate, there is the so-called kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. The oldest and best preserved of Morocco, it was recently declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. It is also well known as a location for the production of films such as Gladiator, Babel, Lawrence of Arabia, etc. Crossing the High Atlas we arrive in Marrakech.
9 Day : Marrakech – Marrakech .
A full day to explore the historical monuments of the city. By the Lafna Jemaa Square, the old medina, the Koutoubia minaret, the Bahia Palace, Majorelle Gardens, saadins historical tombs and the famous Koranic ben youssef school. The visit will be guided by a local guide.
10 Day : Marrakech departure.
